Interesting IP policy
> "the operator makes no demands on the intellectual property of the companies it is helping.."

That's an interesting policy, and it probably helps ease some concerns that startups might have with taking money from an investor that might be potential competition down the line. But I wonder how an incubator like this attracts entrepreneurs in the first place? Usually, it's not just the money for investment rounds, but also connections to help these businesses grow. So.. will these startups get some preferential treatment on the network side?

ProGlove - another wearable category?
Watches and VR/AR goggles seem to have peaked a bit.. so maybe gloves, earbuds and other wearables are going to catch on? I haven't seen too many smart gloves in action, but it sounds like a potentially useful gadget. Getting used to charging gloves, tho....

Re: All about resources and mentoring
It is another interesting discourse to join--I am glad to see you agreeing @Batye.   Change is always positive--no question.   However, iOT in and of itself is challenging due to a multitude of challenges that has to be overcome including platforms, systems and the frankly the "Chasm" that still has to be crossed.    It is bound in the eyes of some not to be as "positive" as one would like and hope.

Re: Interesting IP policy
The simple solution to that is this:  Lawyers who are smart enough to figure out how to "balance it all out".    Not everyone will win--that's for sure.    The incubator has to make sure it is amenable--I know if I ever decided to move and take advantage of an incubator I want it to allow me to be free without interference.

Re: All About Resources
Why won't you believe it to be a "smooth ride"?    It is true that change is never easy--but the opportunity to grow is something that all must be amenable.  Right?

I add my voice in the clarifications--but I could not help but ask, in what way the positive paradigm shift?  What specific advantages are you seeing?  Hope to see this clarification.

Re: ProGlove - another wearable category?
It is interesting that you note that they've "Peaked"--I would argue they are yet to actually gain traction on a broad basis--part of the broad challenge of the so-called "Chasm" that is yet to be crossed.   Apple says its' sales of "Other devices" (which includes the Watch) has had a record sales quarter--but the watch is yet to gain traction....as well as other so-called wearables.    I do note that the move by DT (and I am sure T-Mobile is jumping at the bits) to proceed in a concerted way.

It is a developing story, no question.....

Sure. I meant that they've "peaked" with hype, not adoption. Surely, smartwatches have a lot more adoption ahead as they get better battery life and actually become useful. (I'm not too keen on needing to re-charge a watch everyday.)

If Siri or other voice-activated services were better, that might also boost the smartwatch usefulness factor, but so far I haven't seen a great reason to start wearing a watch again.

I don't think smart gloves are particularly the next big thing, but maybe headphones? Or a better version of AR glasses that don't look dorky.

I am having reasonable luck w/my Pebble (and it is a first generation).     We have some room to grow with it--no question.    But fun to be witness to..isn't it?

Re: ProGlove - another wearable category?
Wearables have a long way to go for sure. I think Apple has jumped the gun a bit with its watch. I think it's like the Newton. There just isn't enough supporting tech to really make the Apple Watch compelling. Just as the Newton wasn't complete until touchscreens and UI combined into an iPad.
